The focus of this blog is three fold:1. To read books and tell you what I think of them. Because I CAN.
2. To participate in the book blogging community. Because everyone is so amazing.
3. To do something that I enjoy. Because otherwise, what am I doing here?
What types of books, you ask? Well, YA fiction--especially YA sci-fi/fantasy and dystopian subgenres--have been dominating my read list for several years now. But I will read just about anything that gets my attention.
Posts:To lend some structure and routine to the tornado that is my ADD brain, I'm going to focus (at least at first) on three types of posts: Reviews, Memes, and Reading Challenges.
Review posts:New Reviews: In these posts I will either link to the book's summary on GoodReads or write my own brief summary. Then I will discuss what I liked or didn't like about the book. I'm sure I will sometimes veer off on a tangent--such as any controversy surrounding the book or (more than likely) a feminist rant about one of the characters. I'll also rate the book and, if I think it's necessary, mention to whom I would most recommend the book.
Reviews Redux: Also, I'm planning on reposting previous reviews that I have archived right now. I will re-post and revisit my old reviews, and hopefully people will find this interesting or helpful.
Monday: It's Monday, What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Shelia at Book Journey. Here I will talk about what I read and reviewed the previous week and what I'm planning on reading during the coming week. I might also talk about anything I've purchased or picked up from the library.
Tuesday: Teaser Tuesday is a meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. In these posts I'll preview a few lines from a book I'm reading or will be reading.
Wednesday: Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. In these posts I will highlight books unreleased books I want to read.
Thursday: Thursday Thoughts isn't a meme hosted by a book blogger, as far as I can tell, but I want to make it a regular occurrence on my blog. If I get any feedback (and confirmation that no one else is doing it) maybe I'll begin hosting it as a meme. In these posts, I will consider any issues that have been on my mind or things that are happening in my life. I may or may not connect this to a book I've been reading.
Friday: TGIF is a meme hosted by Ginger from gReads. Each week Ginger poses a question and we answer it.
Saturday: I have a life people. I'm taking this day off!
Sunday: Sunday Salon is now hosted on Facebook and I'm still waiting for them to add me, but I'll be doing this post regardless. This is usually a recap-style post or an in-depth review. I will also contribute to Girlxoxo's Sunday Best Link Party, though that won't require a separate post.
